At Sevana Elders' Home, your loved ones are welcomed into a warm, family-like environment in the heart of Sri Lanka — where every day is filled with kindness, companionship, and respect.
Sevana Elders' Home was founded with a simple belief: that growing older should be a time of comfort, connection, and dignity. Inspired by Sri Lanka's deep traditions of honouring our elders, we created a place where seniors are cared for like family — not patients.
Our caregivers, cooks, and housekeepers work together to ensure every resident feels at home: enjoying traditional meals, joining in cultural festivals, and spending quiet afternoons in our gardens.
Treated with respect, always.
Care from the heart.
A true family feeling.
Honouring our traditions.
We provide compassionate, non-medical daily living support for seniors who are largely independent and need a helping hand.
Three home-cooked Sri Lankan meals daily plus tea and snacks, with accommodations for dietary needs and preferences.
Gentle help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and daily hygiene — always with respect and privacy.
Help with walking, transferring, and safe movement around our fully accessible premises.
Daily conversation, shared activities, and emotional warmth so no resident ever feels alone.
Comfortable single and shared rooms with handrails, non-slip floors, and 24-hour caregiver presence.
Clean rooms, fresh linens, and personal laundry handled with care — so residents can relax fully.
Music, gentle exercise, gardening, religious observances, and festive celebrations year-round.
Dedicated quiet spaces for prayer and meditation, with cultural and religious traditions respected.
Sevana is a non-medical care home. We do not provide nursing, medical treatment, physiotherapy, dementia/Alzheimer's specialised care, or terminal/hospice care. Our residents must be assessed as mobile and stable in health before admission. For medical emergencies, we have referral partnerships with nearby hospitals and clinics, and we notify families immediately. This focus allows us to do one thing exceptionally well: provide warm, attentive daily care in a true home environment.
Our days are gentle, predictable, and filled with small joys — meals shared, stories swapped, and quiet moments in the garden.

My mother has been at Sevana for two years now. From Melbourne, I can sleep peacefully knowing she's surrounded by people who treat her like their own grandmother. The weekly video calls mean everything to me.
What struck us most was the genuine warmth. My father, who was reluctant at first, now calls Sevana his home. The food reminds him of his village, and the caregivers know exactly how he likes his tea.
The transparency about what they do and don't offer gave us so much confidence. They were honest that medical care isn't their focus, and they made sure my aunt was a good fit before admission.
For minor illnesses, our caregivers monitor and provide comfort care. For anything requiring medical attention, we have referral arrangements with nearby hospitals and will transport your loved one and notify you immediately. Families are expected to cover medical expenses.
Yes. We welcome family visits between 8 AM and 7 PM daily, with no appointment needed. For special circumstances, we accommodate visits outside these hours too.
Absolutely. We respect all religious practices — Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, and Muslim — and provide spaces for prayer. We accommodate vegetarian, diabetic, low-salt, and other dietary requirements.
Yes — we offer trial stays of one or two weeks so your loved one can experience life at Sevana before a longer commitment.
Residents should be largely mobile (with or without a walking aid) and stable in health. We conduct a friendly pre-admission assessment to ensure Sevana is the right fit. We're unable to accept residents needing nursing care, dementia care, or end-of-life care.
Personal clothing, toiletries, any prescribed medications with instructions, copies of ID and medical records, and personal items like photos or a favourite blanket to make the room feel like home.
We'd love to show you around. Visit us, call, or send a message — we typically respond within a few hours.
